I am lost on this one. I am just glad that your issue is resolved.

Too often someone insists on suggesting to lube the splines to fix a grabby clutch. That either has no affect, or a very slight one, at most. Both sides are hardened steel and move freely even without lube, they just wear much faster is all.

When the input shaft can move more than a tiny bit, that forces the clutch to engage instantly and one gets a grabby clutch. In the first year of the /5 nearly all were grabby right from the factory because they didn't follow their own spec for end play.

Gosh, Imagine that, BMW didn't follow a spec? Oh, wait, they screwed up the forks the same way. If BMW could make these mistakes, maybe there are more of them. There should be a website on these issues so that people can find the fix easily. Oh, I forgot, there is one. Now I forgot the address.
