Wrong side is what will give the fins that 'sloping' look.
It may be the angle of the dangle of the photo in this case tho'?

Yep, wrong side. Being up on the centerstand actually makes straightens them a little. They'll look even worse off the stand.

I think he likes 'em that way. A few years back, I bought a '78 R100/7 ("The Mule") from RapidDog (BTW how the hell are ya Randy?) and the valve covers were on the wrong sides.
