Well long story short...it's fixed. At least the starter problem is.

Late last night I headed to Ross's and collected the starter, solenoid and another instrument circuit board.

Worked early today so planned to get stuck in tonight.

Pulled the starter out, it's a Bosch. Easily noticed if you know the solenoid shape, verses the stubbier Valeo.

The starter worked on the bench, but was noisier than the new to me one. Hmmm maybe this won't work?

Well, it did. No problem starting.

I've not finished putting it all back together yet either, and the neutral light seems the more unreliable of the instrument lights.

Good enough for a weekend away...and the forecast is looking good.
