Assume we pay on the day?

For the Mexicans, the directions to Sheepyard Flats Campsite –

Image

Head east from Mansfield on the Mount Buller Rd – 13kms to Merrijig – turn right onto the Howqua Hills Rd, which becomes the Howqua Hills Track. 20kms of dirt – good well-packed dirt, nicely twisty – and you are there.

Here’s a link to a Parks Victoria info page:

I’ll head up on the Friday arvo and grab a suitable spot. I’ll phone around closer to the day to arrange a group ride for anyone interested.

Charlie (& fellow mehicans),
I plan on heading up Friday, with at least one other (at this stage).
If all goes according to (my usual dodgy) plans we'll be up there early in the arvo.
I'm assuming the camp site's gonna b relatively easy to find.
So prolly catch ya then... I'll b packing me rod so I'll have plenty to do before any others arrive ;-).

Yes Pete. When you get to Sheepyard Flats (a tiny village, maybe 6 houses) just follow the track until you come to the river. Head east along the river, find a spot. There's at least 6 separate camping areas, and I think all are visible from the track. We'll be expecting a feed of trout when we arrive.

Yeah, as far as I know, we pay on the day. I'm about to ring Will in 5 minutes.

I'm planning to get myself organised for getting away from Wodonga early afternoon on Friday.. 1.30..200 pm which should get me there in time for trout!...How does that work with you Charlie?.. It would be good to travel in a group( in case of marauding bikey gangs!)

That would work just fine, Doug. We'll sort a meeting place and time closer to the event.

Looks like about half a dozen riders will converge on the Guyra Summit Caravan Park on Saturday. So far Bob, Ross, Mal, myself are confirmed. I talked to 2 valves in Glenn Innes and 2 wheels are better in Ballina on the phone yesterday, Mal this morning. Bring your fart sack and a mattress and your favorite bottle of plonk or whatever. A covered Barbee is available and Will and Rhiannon can have a fire going in the fireplace if it's cool outside. Personally I'm looking forward to the boogie woogie through the dividing range and meeting new friends. I'm told the shed we'll be sleeping in will accommodate around 15 people so space is plenty.

Sounding good, She'llbe. I'm just working on an Airbear Clone, made from a nose hair (ouch), so I can attend both venues. I will also need to clone Brunhilde, perhaps from all those leftover bits from the last rebuild. If this doesn't work, the next alternative will be to arrange simultaneous toasting, say at sundown on the Saturday night. Cheers.
