R65 Triple Tree Question?

I have a 79 R65 that needs a bit if a rebuild.

I'm wondering if a top clamp from a 70's era airhead (/6, /7) will fit on that bike or if the offset dimensions are different between the forks and the stem.
I can see that the fork tubes measure the same 36mm.

I'm sure they are different though I don't have the dimensions. One indicator is that after market triple trees intended for 70's era airheads do not fit R65's
