Bing Carb set up

I find that every idle circuit diagram I have viewed of the Bing 32mm CV carbs, that the idle mixture screw is the "gateway" for all fuel through the idle circuit. If this is the case, then the only reason for changing pilot jetting would be if you cannot achieve a rich enough mixture with the idle mixture screw. Is this logic correct?

Not quite.

The idle jet also supplies mixture to the two transfer ports and they are not controlled by the mixture screw. The transfer ports are so small it might not make a big difference if the idle jet size was changed but it would make some difference.

This is a generic diagram of a CV carb but a Bing CV is identical in operation.

Thanks! That is a clearer diagram than what I have been looking at. Makes more sense. So the biggest affect of changing the pilot would be off idle and small throttle openings.
