Newbie here looking for advice on arrangements anyone has for cell phone mounts and charge cords/wiring setups. I get lost going to the loo, so always have some sort of GPS running. Also have a dinosaur iphone (7), so I will have to rig up a charge cable.
Anyone have any advice, models they use, or photos they want to share? I hate to buy 10 things on Amazon, only to not solve the problem.
Ideas would be welcomed, and thanks!

hey there! Fellow R100T owner, here. Welcome to the forum!
I don't have fairing on my bike, though. Do you have a stock/aftermarket fairing?
I use Quadlock's mount, handlebar mount, and their anti-vibration adapter with the iPhone 11 Case. Pretty sure they have the same case for your generation phone, as well. I ended up removing the center handlebar cover and clamping it to the bar just left of the center post. here's an album that shows what it looks like alone and with the phone mounted:

As far as power, the bike doesn't exactly have a great power platform. If you have fairing and pockets in that fairing, the best thing to do is have an external battery with a wire snaking out of the pocket.

I’ve added GPS / phone charging using a Battery Tender Adapter and a USB to whatever cable routed up to your handlebars. You can plug the adapter to the same 2-prong SAE port you use for a battery tender (charger) if you want uninterrupted power. If you want it to only have power when you turn on the bike, you’ll need to use another source.

Same with my 1980 R100 T. Use a two prong SAE port to charge battery. Plug accessories in there while riding.

Now, i'm stating why I'm not using the 2-prong tender adapters, and not necessarily saying that these are complicated to solve, but:
I don't exactly trust my generator enough to not deplete the battery while trying to charge the phone and;
I don't have a 2-prong thing currently installed.
I *do,* however, have one of the small power adapters similar to a cars power, but for motorcycles (I can never remember the name) just under the rear of the drivers seat behind/below the seat release button. It works, and can provide the same options.
In any case, I typically just wedge a skinnier external battery under the instrument cluster and use that to charge the phone. No ride I ever go on requires more than 2-3 times charge on my phone, which is what that battery provides. Works for me.
