Voltmeter and Clock

I would welcome an educated opinion please. my R80/7 is fitted with OEM Voltmeter and Clock and amazingly they work however as the bike is a naked model no fairings they are mounted off brackets at the top of each fork leg.

So here is the question is the Voltmeter of any real use, to me an Amp meter would be of more use, then there is the clock and as its not digital will drain all be it a small amount the battery when the bike is not being used.

They to me look like a cheap tacky add on and I know some people love them wonder if I should just remove them and sell them off.

I find those two useful. Nice to know you are charging. They look great with an S fairing.

Sounds like you might prefer to sell them off. I'm presuming green letters? White letters worth more.

Are they in pods? If so, the pods are valuable. Sell them off before they're surpassed by a printed version.

Voltmeter/Ammeter. each is as useful as the other and each has it's own drawbacks. It's just a matter of learning the indications that each gives.

If the clock is in good condition, the drain is minimal and won't trouble the starting battery.... however... the motometer clock, when it gets old, can keep working and keep perfect time but the current usage will increase as it gets worn and dirty. If you have problems check the current consumption of the clock. You'll need an averaging ammeter as the current fluctuates wildly.

Alterbatively, since you don't seem to like them, strip them off and sell them. They will fetch a reasonable amount.
