R100s 1978 - Leaking oil from pushrod seals

Hi, I just wondered if there was a secret to stopping these from leaking. I fitted new seals, the ones that fit up to the engine casing but they do leak. I have tried pushing them home again but they don't seem to be improving.

Is there something obvious that I am missing maybe?

Daniel.

Here's pics. Do they go fully up to the casing? I remember having trouble getting them in in the first place.

Are those oem seals and pushrod tubes?

There's supposed to be a flange on the PR tube.
Are yours not there, or are they just painted black?
The bumps in the rubbers have to be at 6 o'clock.
The one at the front doesn't look like it's in straight, the side view shows it not well seated in the block.

Yes I can see now that I didn't get it aligned. The pushrod tubes are what was on the bike. Looks like I need to get some more then.

Are yours missing the flange?
That's what it looks like.

Yes no flange on them. Was this a thing back in 1978 or do I just have an odd ball set?

They all had flanges.
On some models the flange was an interference fit on the tube and adjustable.
Others were all one piece.

And installing new tubes require them to be pushed into the head a specific amount so that when the heads are torqued, the pressure placed on the seals is correct. Not enough pressure, the seals leak. Too much pressure, and the seals split over time and they leak.
