Restoring my ride I have to face a new challenge:
repair the internal columns of the instruments cluster , those that serve as housing for the 3x15 self threading screws. They are all cracked :(

First of all I would like to ask what type of plastic the cluster is done in your opinion, cause I need to reinforce the columns with
a bi-component glue but looking around I see there are a lot of different types

and second question is:
can I put M3 threaded copper inserts instead self threading screws? Have any of you already did it?

thank you all!

yes I had already thought of a similar solution with plastic tubes, but I also ave to fill the old holes with something and made new grooves to install threaded inserts, I dont' think Ciano Acrylate glue is the best for that.

Finally I've fixed the columns of my istrument cluster, I used threaded M3 inserts, heat inserted using the tip of a circuit welder
before I prepared the holes with increasing diameter drill bits (from 2mm to 4)
after the inserts I reinforced every single column with epoxy 2k glue mixed with crumbled scissors cutted glass fibre
The photo is before I refined all with the dremel:

Glue seems to have a good superficial hardness and tenacity at the same time,
only time will give us a response
