I bought my first BMW R75/5 in Germany in July of 1973. The first R90S started showing up in Krauser BMW showroom later that year. I was bummed, I wanted one so bad!Scot wrote:http://www.dropbears.com/b/bmw/r90s73.htm
I didn't know Commandos could limp. All the ones I've known either ran like a bat outta hell, or (frequently) not at allchasbmw wrote:I saw my first 'live' R90s in early summer in italy, an american guy was riding it, I was quite disappointed beacuse he told me that he did not like the bike beacuse it vibrated more than his previous BMW. I would have been very happy to swop the bike for my norton commando, which was limping a bit!

You should be able to get the month of manufacture from Phil Hawksley's site: http://www.bmbikes.co.uk/chassispages/e ... sis900.htmThe Bigfella wrote:I believe my R90S is a late '73 production... on the first shipment to Oz, sold in '74.
Thanks Daniel. According to that, my Brunhilde is 9/73. She'll be 38 this year - sort of 'young middle age'. She wears her patina well and doesn't look a day over 37.DanielMc wrote:You should be able to get the month of manufacture from Phil Hawksley's site: http://www.bmbikes.co.uk/chassispages/e ... sis900.htmThe Bigfella wrote:I believe my R90S is a late '73 production... on the first shipment to Oz, sold in '74.
