I rode one of the W650's. An 800 would be better!

Very pretty. Just 48 BHP, spoke wheels, horizontal mufflers, 50 year-old styling, but with proper brakes, electrics and everything else. I'd have a go with one, but I'd have to hide it from Brunhilde, who most definitely would not approve.

ps: Back in the day, riding a japanese motorcycle was thought of in a similar way to masturbating (christians apparently use the pejorative term 'self-abuse' instead of 'independent pleasuring', poor silly bastards). Anyway, riding a japanese motorcycle gives a very nice feeling, but what if your mates caught you doin' it? Y'know, it's a bit like wearing a beret. (sorry ZM, I know it's a cap, but the devil makes me do it. Just keep bangin' yer head against that wall - it cheers me up so. Thanx, mate - appreciated.)

I think they are mistaken about the HP. A stock W650 produced 48HP. The W800 would have to have HP in the 60's to compete with the Bonneville.
What I don't like is that dry weight is listed as 476 lbs. That is porky, and 100 lbs more than a 1960's Triumph.

That's more than my Shitzuki GSF1200S!

The W650 has a 360° with a balancer: http://www.absoluteastronomy.com/topics/Kawasaki_W650

I wouldn't be surprised if all they did was increase displacement.
