My 1992 R100GS has been running on Castrol 4T 20W-50. I do not see any reason to change this.
Opinions please!

It's your bike and you can use whatever oil you like.

The reason we are gald that you are useing oil is, we have a regular here who has forgotten that important fluid and it cost him dearly............... and we never miss a chance to remind him.

I will be one to recommend changing your oil -
at regular intervals as prescribed by the factory manual.

There's always the oldie but goodie - clean oil is better than dirty oil and dirty oil is better than no oil!

Absolutely nothing wrong with Castrol 20/50, my '87 ran on it for 90,000km.
Then it blew up.
Then I changed to Belray semi-synthetic 20/50.
