Yeah, the W650 has it, too (and Ducati, of course), I just never really took notice it until I saw this bike.

I am not certain Rob, but I think that engine is OHV and that is a pushrod tube.
Still a neat look tho'.

You are probably right. I had no idea it was a entry-level machine, which probably means "nothing too fancy", engineering-wise.

Saw a bike very much like this one when I previewed the auction at Barber's last October. I think it was a Terrier but can't be sure. It had been totally restored and was painted burgundy. Couldn't stop looking at it. It was like a piece of art. I probably went back to see it five times.

Oh dear , I blew one up as a kid , not a terrier , a Cub 200cc .

Rob, I think you like that Kawasaki because it looks so much like that Harley Davidson cafe racer type bike you used to have. Had you realized how much it looks like that bike?
