Cool thrift store find:

Today I went to a hardware store to buy some parts for the Black Bike project on the work stand. The project was a Rob Frankham grounding loom and some connectors were what I needed.

Pulling into the small center where the hardware store is, I noticed a cool bicycle with an interesting one wheel trailer sitting in front of the thrift store. I wanted to see if I knew the bicycle owner and ask him about the trailer, so I went into the thrift store before the hardware store. Sitting in the isle just inside the door was a box with super heavy duty hangers in it. They were all new. I bought enough for my motorcycle clothes. I think I'll go back tomorrow and buy the rest and give them to friends for their motorcycle clothes. They were $.50 each and are new.

Prior to this find, I had been using two normal weight plastic hangers per jacket.

But did you meet the owner of the bike?
Did you find the electrical connectors you needed?

I thought you were going to say there was a cat asleep in the "specials" table by the cash register. I saw that once at the little off-the-grid hardware store that was close to where I lived for a couple of years.

Near as I can tell, from Googling "coat hanger tattoo", it is a fad - nothing more.

No, it means you're pro-choice. The coat hanger is a gruesome symbol of a homemade, self-induced abortion device of ages past. Back in 80s and 90s you'd often see that simple hangar image on a t-shirt or a bumpersticker. A rather harsh suggestion of what would happen if the Moral Majority types who were trying so hard to turn back the clock and reverse Roe v. Wade would get their way.

Great find. I've been looking all over the place for some real gear hangers. Hard to find.

I'm sorry, I was trying to pull something together that wasn't meant to be I guess, and then it was time to get to bed. I was trying to find a picture of someone hugging a clothes hanger like a teddy bear and kept seeing all these tattoos.

As far as to why girls get them???
One thing I read was... the ones you see on the back of the neck close to the hear line is something Models do. Yes, they're human clothes hangers. With it hidden under their hair, it does not interfere with their careers. I saw where one shoe model had it on the bottom of her foot.

Then there are the ones that have them visible without having to do that hair flippy thing they do when they're flirting. I saw somewhere else that those girls should add little baby shoes to the tat and make it into a mobile for each one they aborted (not my thoughts, just reporting).

Again Sorry, I wish Chuey happiness in his new Hanger Heaven.
Sometimes it's the smallest of things that can bring the most happiness.

Thanks for that bit of "journalism" there, SD.
