Monoshock RT & RS owners protect your main wiring harness

Post by Jeff in W.C. »

Well, it seems as though the main wiring harness for the monoshock RT's and RS's are no longer available. I've been told there's zero in the US and zero in Germany. So take proper care of the one you've got.

Thanks.
A while back a bought one off Ebay and although it is much newer than my '87 I think it is probably quite similar. Nice having it on the shelf.

Main wiring harness differences?

Post by SteveD »

Can anyone tell me how the harness from the 81-84 unfaired R100 is different from the RS/RT from 81-84, excluding issues of length?

The supply of NOS wiring looms are becoming a little limited. Wiring looms that are being produced now, are a lot more expensive, over£ 400, take a look at the Motorworks site.

Thanks, but I have checked out what they have listed online, and none are for monoshock airheads (except the G/S).

Just searching by # the parts place in Chattanooga came up. They list both early and late RT & RS #'s with a purchase option. Way cheaper than list. Did you try them to see if they actually have them available?

I'm not sure what parts place in Chattanooga you're talking about, but I've found out that most online parts fiche indicate the part available. However, talking with a live individual in the parts department indicates that they are NLA. Now if this place in Chattanooga has one on a shelf somewhere, I'd love to buy it.
