leak on top of CV carb

I noticed a leak on top of one of my carbs this weekend. It was bubbling out of the top of my 32mm CV bing.
I've had it apart but never noticed whether that little top insert had a bushing or anything. Is it something that a dab of silicon or jb weld could fix?
any ideas?

You may be able to tighten the seal by judiciously tapping the dome of the insert with a small hammer or a drift.
If that doesn't work, James has a solution.

Yep, silicone will work. I think the tops rust out as its a perfect bowl there. Think there are repalcements tops that can be pressed in but not sure.
I dressed up mine with $1 "loonie" siliconed on top of the one carb. Perfect size. Then added $2 'twonnie" with silicone on the other carb...counterwieght you know!
Motobins sells a mini metal BMW logo you could use also to silicone it on top of your carb, Check it out....its #95390 about 20mm diameter..near bottom of page...it fits nicely. Have seen on a few other carb tops.

I should fine a couple of proper sized '77 German coins as toppers then.

Do you get a slight miss on a steady throttle?

I wasn't getting a miss at all. I was also riding the local canyons so there was little to no steady throttle to really determine it.
