Monolever final drive - final chapter...

I won't go through all the details again as anyone who was interested has read it in previous posts.
After running the rebuilt unit for a couple of hundred kilometers I am
fairly certain I was successful.
After a long run the unit is warm but not hot.
I can detect
no wobble when I try to wiggle the wheel.
No leaks.
And the best thing is how much more positive it feels in on/off throttle transitions. Bringing the backlash into spec. made that difference.
I will reserve
final
judgement for when I drain the oil, but for now the spare has been drained and put on the shelf (but not on E-Bay yet).
Fingers crossed.

Sounds great, there is one on the way to you for a rebuild as we speak. You should have it as soon as the Postal Strike is over........... next year.

Thinking back, it wasn't too difficult.
Some patience waiting for shims a few times.
Lots of trial assembly, measuring, arithmetic, and a good dial indicator.
