Possition of right side foot peg

Post by pkboxer »

When ever I have went to set the position of the right side footpeg, I always want to set it between two positions.

The lower position makes the metal part of the footpeg touch the frame, you can see where it's rubbed in the picture/
The higher position seams too high in regard to the brake lever and too close to the carb., that's where it's set in the picture.

The higher position seams to make it just slightly higher than the left side (which is adjusted to make shifting work best for me).

The other issue when I look at it, my brake pedal is alread set with the bolt set like this..

Which Duanne says in incorrect. If I set it "correctly" the pedal will be even lower.

But if I use the higher footpeg location, I'd want to raise the break pedal even more than it is.

Does anyone else's left peg touch the frame or is it set in the higher spot? Any lower and it would hit the exhaust.

Yep, mine rubs on the frame. That looks like the correct position judging by different pictures in the owners manual. They should be the same height, both sides.

It looks correct in my picture? In that position it doesn't rub. It's when it's 1 position lower that it rubs, but it could have bent in a tip over at some point.

I just get a little vibration in that foot peg due to it touching on the frame.

I couldn't find any good pictures in this location to compare too, but I do have a link to the owners manual.

I'll check that

Yep, sorry I wasn't clear, yours is too high, it should be lower where it touches the frame.

Thanks Tim.

I didn't think that it was made to touch the frame so I thought mine was "wrong".

Either way, that's what I'm used to, so I'll stick with that.

If it is in the correct position but rubs the frame, bend it so that it doesn't.
