An old gal I used to know

Well, who can tell me what year she was born? (I know)
This pic was taken about 1985.
I remember caressing her beautiful curves, rubbing away the years of neglect.
She was blind in one eye when we met.
How could I have let her go.....
I still dream about her occasionally.
What a hot body, made from real metal.
I'd love to find another, just like her.

I'm not sure about the year, circa 1950 I guess. Older than my Chevy:

What happened to yours, you sell it? I wonder how many people sit around congratulating themselves for selling "that old piece of junk."

by Jeff in W.C.
Looks like a 1952 Ford truck to me.

You're both close Ed and Jeff, 1951.
Seeing pictures of Ed's truck a few times prompted me to dig out some old photos and scan them.
I remember many rainy days on a farmhouse verandah panel beating.
I thought I'd show you guys in Canada and the States seeing that's where it was built. Actually I'm not sure if it was assembled in Australia.
It was an excellent advertising tool.
My brother ken at the time had a '46 chev truck for his mechanical workshop.
His blue flame motor had it over my side valve V8.

Oh man that truck was in great shape! Why did you get rid of it?

A friend of mine just sent me a Craigslist ad for a '54 International 4WD pickup, asking about $4,000 bucks. I'm glad I don't need one. I love old trucks.

Well Ed, same old story with most folk. 'I needed the cash' to buy another truck for my work. I bought an F350 tipper.
I'm familiar with the Inters of the same period. 4WD 'eh, that would be something.
I notice your Chev is 4wd.

Yeah, I found the correct Napco running gear and upfitted it. Here's Napco history:

Since I took the above pic I found a new cab so I'm starting a frame off. Who knows how long that will take.

I have a strong feeling that this white truck is my old truck.
I made the bumper bar for my truck when I restored it. As soon as I saw this white '51 I said "that's my fuckin' truck!"
I know that the guy I sold it to in about 1990 was going to chop the roof.
The dimensions of the bumper bar on the white truck look identical to my old one.
I did try to locate the owner through the website that found the white truck on, without success.

That's an amazing story, but one that makes me feel a bit uncomfortable - a bit like hearing that years after losing touch with your Gran you find out she's been working as a porn star in Dusseldorf.
