Airhead, aka Bill Emery

Post by SteveD »

It's been just over two years now since Bill passed. ..early August, 2008.

Bill was a great fella. He had a great knowledge of our bikes and was generous with that knowledge. He rode a R65, and had an excellent understanding of electrics.

In his last few months he had been busy doing parts photography for Munich Motorcycles (Perth, Oz) for their online catalogue.

He will be remembered though for his online friendship, and his sense of humour. And who could forget his eye!
Cheers, Steve

+ 1 . . .

Bill and I exchanged several emails offline, a few of them concerning this place (!) and some in regards to the R90/6 restoration project which he completed only a short time before he succumbed to his illness. He got to ride it, if only for a short distance. I valued his advice and wisdom, and miss his presence here. He tried to teach me some online diplomacy, most of which I've since forgotten, sadly.

A true gentleman. RIP.

Bill had a glass eye. He had this one made up for special occasions.

Many good chats and countless laughs with Bill.
I miss him still.
I've spent most of my money on women, motorcycles, and beer.
The rest of it I just wasted.

A bloody good bloke. ** I knew him too briefly, but think of him often.

** Y'know like, for an aussie, I mean.

Hi Bill -
Hope everything's OK up there.

A new guy was trying to impersonate you,
I answered his question to the best of my ability just in case it was really you pulling our chain.
Looks like the other guys scared him right back to where he came from.

Damn but I miss Bill! I've sat here for several minutes trying to come up with something eloquent to say, but it all fell flat. Bottom line: he was one heluva great friend to us all, and we shall never stop missing him.

Bill seems a good sort. He bothered to post a schematic for a problem I was having. You don't forget a sincere guy like that. :)

I had dealings with him outside the board and he was a stand up guy. We sure should all miss him as his contributions were quite valuable. Cheers, Bill! Hope you're enjoying us reminiscing about you!
