Just got my heads back and laped the valves in this arvo.

Have noticed that they are not smooth where the exhaust and inlet spigots terminate
into the ports, questions are.

Should I smooth this area inside the port?

If yes, is there anything that I should be aware of?

Is it worthwhile mucking around with?

Smooth = good, i.e. no sharp edges/steps.
Bigger = not good.
IMHO.

What do you mean by "not smooth?"

If one pathway does not align with another, producing a "step" or edge, that is not good. If you mean that the surface is not shiny and polished, but is, in fact, coarse, this is not a flaw.

I mean a step where the spigot meets the alloy casting Major,

with yours and Dougies advice I'll smooth those steps out this morning,

Thanks Fellars
