My second uploaded video!
My second uploaded video!
Just another video of me riding my R75/5, this time down the Puna coastline between Opihikao and Kalapana, same place where my avatar picture was taken. At 4:52 is the patch of interesting trees I've posted pictures of before (left turn up small hill section with lots of parked cars) Unfortunately my battery died before I made it to the "tree tunnel". Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0g9JmS47 ... 1313979300

Very nice, Tim. And, thanks! -- I managed to get in a few minutes of air-motorcycle practice time.
Beautiful road there too.

Nice to hear the sewing machine instead of the tornado. How do you shield the mic? Also, is that solid mounted? It didn't shake about at all, as in, not a jarring video.
Also, what's the deal with such a beautiful road not having cyclists on it?

Thanks Ross, to be honest, my speedo is very optimistic by about 7%, but it's fun to watch. Probably saved me a few tickets over the years...Ross wrote:Great stuff mate. Love that your 75 purrs along at a fair clip too.

yep, it's a very nice road, lots of sweepers and up and down too. "Air- motorcycle", I like it!dwerbil wrote:Very nice, Tim. And, thanks! -- I managed to get in a few minutes of air-motorcycle practice time.

No, I didn't shield the mic, but the average speeds were lower than my other video. My Drift HD170 came with a remote mic, so one of these days I'd like to mount it near the rear of the bike out of the wind to catch more of the exhaust note. It is clamped to the handlebar, but the weight of the camera is not evenly distributed between the front and back, so at certain rpms I notice it does a harmonic vibration, visible in the video as the headlight doing an accordion effect as I go through the gears. I tried strapping it to the top of my tank bag once, but then the video was very jerky. I don't know why there were no bicyclists in evidence, possibly because this road connects to the rest of the island up some very long steep inclines. Lots of motorcyclists though, and even the Harley guys waved!Chuey wrote:Nice to hear the sewing machine instead of the tornado. How do you shield the mic? Also, is that solid mounted? Great vid Tim. I think all those 4-wheeled things should be taken off such a good motorcycling road.
And yes, do mount the remote mic down the back somewhere - it'll be great to hear the exhaust note properly.

Yer headlight wasn't on...or do you have another switch? Great video.

Nice Tim.
