Wonderful piece of tech......but what about stairs, rough surfaces etc etc.

For healthy human beings it's really a bit pointless, we do have legs that work very well in a variety of conditions, better to get some exercise in a museum or shopping mall, rather than use one of those things.

Exercise is good for you, a good part of the obesity problem is that people no longer walk in carrying out there normal lives, and don't get me on to the crap food that many people eat!

Your point about stairs and such is well taken. However, I can see how it could increase the mobility for those individuals that , while otherwise healthy, have issues with arthritis, severe asthma, and other conditions where walking for an extended length of time is not an option.

chasbmw said it very well. For a healthy individual who wants to remain healthy, it would be of no help. Aside from the health aspect, why would we want to replace walking with something more that will take electricity or other outside power?

As to the video, for such a big company as Honda, it seemed amateurish . The scene transitions with their attendant music changes were choppy and disjointed.

I would think that the operator would need to have a fairly good balance and to have the basic core strength to sit on it without giving any inadvertent control inputs. Four wheels might better suit someone who can't walk a reasonable distance.
