Hello all. Ending in just over 20 hours is a set of used rearsets on ebay. They are for R90 vintage bikes, maybe would fit others. I looked at the pictures and this is what I can tell. The mounting point for them is where the normal passenger peg goes. They include the serrated short dog leg arm for that connection. It looks to me like the brake linkage uses the stock pivot to activate the brake. Funny think is, that is how I did mine. I couldn't get it to work well with any of my other designs. There are very touchy leverage ratio issues with that brake. That makes me think that a lot of the rearsets that I've seen don't leave you with a properly working rear brake.

Anyway, the guy is asking $350.00 for the set. It may be high but they do look to be well designed. I'm not connected with the auction in any way. If anyone gets these, I may like to see about copying them.

I found these by putting R90S into the search box and he calls them "kickback shifters". ebay #260855292310.

I am going to comment that I think the position of rearsets is much more comfortable than the stock position. I have some CC products rearsets that I plan to put onto my R90S.

Controls should be placed for comfort and utility of riding style ...

Such as it is we are faced with 3 choices:
1.) The factory defined stock option.
2.) An after-market prescribed rear-set option.
or
3.) roll your own

It's amazing how many people never even adjust the stock controls to suit them. It's always the first thing I ever do to any bike purchased - partly to be comfortable, partly to see if I'm going to need to consider an option other than #1.

I don't find the stock position as comfortable as when they are a little further back. I made my own for my Cafe Racer but will be happy to try the CC products ones, which are about two inches forward of the ones I made. The ones in the auction look better in a couple ways as compared to the CC products ones.

I like it Matt, but I'm a cheap bastard... I just puts me foots on them thar passenger pegs ( if I'm not planning on using the brakes or shifting for awhile, that is...)

I have found that most of my most important braking is unplanned...

So, they're back. They have been relisted. Now he calls them "Ninja Kick Backs"! I love it! He still has them listed at $350.00 and he says he should have his head examined for selling them.
