84 R100: Took off the valve covers and checked my tappet clearances.

Left side .004 in and .007 ex. Last time it was .004 and 006.

Right side is .004 and .006 same as last check.

You know what I did? I put the valve covers back on and didn't even check my head nut torques.

Is there a special place in Hell for guys like me? :|

You could get a job at a Zooki dealership....................... on second thought no. You shouldn't have taken the valve cover off. You would be waisting valuble time that could be spent makeing up the bill. :geek:

I do not believe so, but there's a special place in Heaven for your bike.

Sounds like it's dialed nicely...just out of curiosity...

Miles since last check? Miles on bike? History of heads (valve jobs, stock/non, etc.)? Etc.?

Checked them about 4000 miles ago. Bike only has 40,000 miles. Reason for low miles is fear of reported valve recession, and fear of getting the wrong guy to replace the exhaust valve seats. I have had zero luck getting work done on any machines. And I've had 40 bikes so far. Got some dire Karma in this area. So everything is untouched, and I know this because I'm the original owner. Bike runs very well. I put lots of miles on Jap scrap, Shitzukis and such. :geek:

That's exactly what happened when I bought my Shitsuki. I took it to the local dealer for my first service. I had put a line of goop hidden in an inconspicuous place on the vale cover to head. Guess what? Got a $300 bill and my book stamped. Goop was in fine shape! And so it goes....at least for me.
