/5 mirror options

I have been considering my options for mirrors. There are the stock long and short stem mirrors, the bar end type with the mirror stem pointing up or down, there is the /2 era headlight mirrors. I have a personal dislike of mirrors that stick up higher than the handlebars. I think it interrupts the lines/look of the bike. So, something I hadn't seen before checking out BMW bikes is the headlight mounted mirrors. They are unusual to me in the way they are mounted and there relative position to the rider seems kind of strange. But, I like them. Seeing as they cost a nice chunk of change I would like to know what opinions others have of this type of mirror before I make a purchase.

Haven't ever ridden with the headlight mounted mirrors, although I've seen them on bikes.

What bars do you have? That makes a big difference with some of the styles.

Unfortunately, in general: the better the mirrors blend into the bike, the less effective they will be at doing their job.

Here's the current state. I believe these are euro bars.

I have heard that the headlight mounted mirrors exhibit excessive vibration, tho I have not used them.

I like my Napolean bar end mirrors.

That seat looks hard to me.

Haha, I am supposed to be receiving my seat in the mail today. I'm pretty excited about that.

My stock mirrors did not work well, as they vibrated and gave me a good view of my arms.

I had a set of napoleon bar end mirrors and they worked great.

Now I have a set of Albert bar end mirrors. They look and work great, but are hard to find.

I bought a set of the "Albert" headlight mirrors from Vech and he told me "it's a crap-shoot, they work wonderfully for some folks", they work GREAT for me (1973 R75/5, 6' 1" rider, R90S 'bars).

Nice! I like how they look. The headlight mount mirrors are probably the way I'll go with the napolean mounted with the stem pointing downward as my second choice as of right now.

I have a set of Albert's on my R75, no vibration and they look great. Not exactly the best position for a mirror but you get use to them.

Your testimony has convinced me they are worth checking out. Placed my order.
