Krauser used a battery lug to hold the sparkplug wire tight to the valve cover. I have one of the originals, but I can't find a replacement anywhere and the Krauser spares vendor has them listed as NLA. Has anyone seen one like this out there? I has an open end for the wire to slip through, I can only find the type with a solid end.

Those are very easy to buy or make. To make one, just find a copper tube of the desired diameter. Cut it to length and smash/squeeze one end down to flat. Then drill a hole in it of the desired diameter.

Or, go on eBay to find one already made up.

Or, give me the size of the two holes and I will see if I have one in my vast inventory of lugs.

I don't even use them on my bike...I'll see if I can find my originals. Alternatively, you could cut a small strip of metal...drill two holes...mount the piece to the valve cover with one hole...put a grommet in the other hole and run the spark plug wire through the grommet.

I assume by the "Krauser spares vendor" you mean De Hobbyist in the Netherlands? Also try an email directly to Krauser. They sold all of the tooling and MOST of the parts stock, but I have found that they can sometimes find the odd bit or piece when nobody else can.

Yes, De Hobbyist. They are hit or miss as to answering their email, I asked them for a quote on a new set of wires, no response.

Duane, the terminal hole is 5/16" and the wire side is 3/8" or whatever the metric equivalents are. thanks

I will go out in the shop in the morning to look for it. That is on the small side of my inventory of lugs, but I could well have it. It is too cold for me to go out there tonight. I am a wimp and happy with it.

It looks like to me that a straight lug could be bent into that configuration.

Here is what I have in stock that is close, or may be made to work. All are straight, but can easily be bent to 90 degrees. I have one type that is 90 degrees, but it isn't close. Some are double lug hole and the extra can be sawed off. Those too small holes can be enlarged to fit. The wire can have a few strands cut off to fit the smaller hole. Some are single crimp and some are double. I would ignore that and solder it on.

Wire size first and then lug hole. 3/8" = .375 and 5/16" = .313"
.407" & .393"
.325" & .304"
.275" & .325"

Are you sure that the wire is 3/8" ? That is a large wire for a motorcycle battery cable. However, bigger is better. I would probably make the middle one work by cutting off a few strands.

That looks a lot like the lugs that come on a stock battery ground cable. An old one could be a source of two lugs.

Duane...it's not used as a terminal end for a wire. It's used to hold the spark plug wire in place. The ring fits under an M8 bolt that holds the valve cover in place...the barrel end holds the spark plug wire that passes through it. It simply holds the plug wire so it hugs the back side of the cylinder.
