hello, long time lurker here and just picked up a low miles 84 100rt that's got a little damage in the front. It's got a kinked front wheel, slightly bent fork tube and front fairing broken up. Frame around the steering head appears fine. I intend to just put it back as a standard bike plus got some goodies I want to put on it eventually, high comp pistons, 336 cam, dellorto's etc. Question is will tubes from 77-80 bikes fit the 84 sliders since I have some of those or what kind of matching up do I have to do? I certainly want to keep the later brakes and would triple tree from earlier 77-80 fit up ok? Thanks for any info on putting the best front end I can using these parameters. Arch.

Were it mine, my first goal would be to check the frame for being bent. A bent frame adds to the cost, but mostly changes the order in which you work.

My short answer is no.
Years back I had a very early 1981 square airbox/brembo R100RS and even the fork tubes on that bike were different from the tubes on bikes made a few months later. I had to replace them due to severe pitting from road rocks and the dealer took 3-4 months because even they were stumped. From memory they used a phrase like "transition design".....so your 84 sliders are likely to not fit the Ate tubes.
That was my experience.

All hypothetical posturing & conjecturing aside,
start by grabbing your vernier
and measuring the OD of the tubes & ID of the tree.
