This question might sound dumb, BUT what is the difference between Bing carb 94/40/103 and 94/40/114??
I know that one is Right side and the other is Left side. Would the two carbs work as a pair???
Thanks Bob

Re: Bings
I would have said look here http://www.bingpower.de/english/service ... etter.html for the answer but the 103 isn't listed. I think that usually means it's been superseded by an equivalent type. The web page will give the full spec on the 114 so If all the jets, needles, slides and enricher parts are the same I don't see why they wouldn't work as a pair.

Re: Bings
According to the Bing manual, they're the same except:
- main jet -- 103/104 -- 170; 113/114 -- 160
- clip position -- 103/104 -- 3; 113/114 -- 2
- 103/104 -- R100S
- 113/114 -- R100US, RS
Likely the 113/114 were for later models with leaner jetting for emissions reasons.

Re: Bings
Along with the main jet and needle position differences posted by Kurt, the Bing manual also notes that the "Start Valve" is 923(right) and 924(left) for the 103/104 carbs and is 861/860 for the 113/114 units.
At the bottom of that spec page it states: "Some of the late model R100 carbs were jetted lean to conform with emission standards. A very lean condition will be indicated by a ping at highway speeds which can cause damage to pistons and valves."

Re: Bings
All of the Bings of a series are interchangeable. The last number just tells you what was installed for jets etc.
Just because they are interchangeable doesn't mean that the basic body is exactly the same. In this question the numbers are close, so most likely the bodies are the same or similar. If they vary a lot in number, then the chances are that the bodies are different, but will fit and work. The higher the number, the later the carb.
