Go Pro on my RS

Slowly getting some vision from my gopro onto youtube.
The gopro takes excellent quality hd video, and is best viewed on a big tv.
Youtube is very slow to upload hd. (and can be slow to download too  ) I'm slowly learning how to get an acceptable quality picture in an acceptable upload time.
I have a vid uploading at the moment that will take about 6 hours for a 10 minute vid. Way slow.

Anyway, the recent Captains Flat run allowed me to capture some good vid. I'd like to put all the individual clips together and make a 15 minute vid.

There's just way too much good stuff that happens on rides not to capture it.

This vid was uploaded at a lower resolution and took about half an hour to load. I also messed with the contrast a little which detracts from the original quality.

OK Bob, here's another.
This is the road between Kanchoban and Geehi.
Ken on his RS and Jim on his 1150RT are in front.
The screen on the RS really messes with the gopro audio, that's for sure! More experimenting with the remote microphone.

Jim almost had his 84 RS on the road for the Captains Flat run........looks like the Alpine will be his first trip on it.

Hey ME-

I've just recently been checking out the GoPro Motorsports kit; seems you like it.

For that last vid, what was your mounting point? It's a great view. I've watched some that make me feel dizzy!

Although there are a few routes I'd like to share, my thought was that a video may be a good method of CYA in the vent of any "incident".

Gidday lrz, I have the go pro hero 2 and I did buy the motorsports package.
I don't know how much cheaper it may be, but I really only need the 'J' mount from the motorsport mounting kit.
The J mount can be bought separately.
I have the camera mounted on the bottom edge of my full face. Another inch higher would be far better because of the RS screen.
Some helmets may not offer a sufficiently large surface to mount the self adhesive base for the J mount as I've done.
There is a suction cup mount in the motorsport kit but it looks really big on a helmet. Sorta makes the whole camera setup look too big.
Plus mounting the camera centrally gives a much better perspective of the ride.

The gopro can easily be re-charged from the bike which is handy.

A very small convex mirror mounted somewhere on the screen edge will make it much easier to confirm that the camera is actually filming by being able to observe the flashing red light on the front of the camera. I can move my head to look in my normal mirrors but that's not exactly what I want to see.

The gopro will have very good audio on an unfaired bike I think. I have a small remote stereo mic that I've tried a couple of times.........more trials needed to find the best location. The mic can plug into the gopro.

Typical R100RS rider in the dirt. I saw $1.20 on your speedo at one stage in the dirt there mate. Why did BMW need to bring out the GS when the RS is so fast in the dirt?

A testament to airheads,
19" (as opposed to my 18") front wheels,
Jeff's ability,
and the fact that Aussies, God love 'em, are insane!

Practice!
Oh and don't forget, our speedo's are out 10 k.
One wouldn't want to have to stop in an awful hurry on the dirt. One wouldn't want to have to stop in a hurry on the black top either, 'cause they can't. So.......

Oi! I might be crazy but I'm not insane. Or vice versa. One or the other.

I was gonna say that a BMW speedo is always a tad optimistic, but there is still the fact that, even though thankfully not seen in the video, the 2 stainless steel nuts just behind the petrol tank must be much larger than anything in my current inventory.
