Why not save the added expense and unsprung weight of beads rolling about in the tire
and simply balance the wheel correctly ?

it seems like the beads would take the place of weights if they really work, would be widely used in ALL vehicles.

Every Spring this comes up!
Pro/Con. For/Against. Yes/No.
I went as far as purchasing some beads two years ago; never used 'em...

Considering the huge savings in labor cost and time, if these worked, every manufacturer and every professional race team would be using them.
As far as I know, none are.

I must be dumber than the dumb-arses that came up with them. How are they even supposed to work? Aside from maybe allowing you to pull a wheel at one of Ken's big deals around the campfire and use it for a shaker in a sing-along...

Or you can dump them in the tool tray for the same effectiveness...

I bet they keep the inside of the tires/tube really clean.
So...the tire would be out of balance until it made a few rotations, from a dead stop that is. What happens in sudden braking? I wonder if they could be designed to help plug punctures?

I used them in my rear tire - once. Same tire as before, wore out 2,000 miles quicker with DynaBeads. Many people swear by them. I found them a pain and very effective at wearing my tire out.
