Post by michael »

I am looking for a cast front wheel for a 1985 R80. Need an 18 inch. Where do I look?

Ebay

IBMWR Marketplace http://marketplace.ibmwr.org/

All of Craigslist (various "all of" search engines exist)

Ok. I can't really help you, if you were in the Uk there are some fairly good dealers in SH airhead parts. A monolever is not a collectors bike yet, so hopefully parts won't be too difficult to find.

Is that a "Y-spoke" wheel on the 85? If so, you need to do some research, as you may find that there are K75 or K100 rims that will also work. I know the early K75 and K100, along with the mono R65, R80, and R100 were all running a 2.50 x 18 rim.

Caution: I have "discovered" that rear K-type Y-spoke (drum brake) cast wheels
have a different cast & machined profile in the hub area
and do not correctly fit an R-type FD.
Not sure about the disk brake version ...
