I need to know how to separate the fairing plug on my 81 R100RS so I can remove the fairing. It's the plastic
M/F block. Last week my Wife and I were out with a group of Vintage BMW riders and I road my bike off the grass
onto the blacktop so my wife could get on. I stopped the bike, put my foot out and there was nothing there. The blacktop was 4 inches higher then the grass. I rolled the bike over on me. I have a nasty bruise on the Rt upper panel,
and shifted everything over 1-2inches. The only hurt was my pride.

Electrical spray lube, elbow grease (wiggle the plug), and patience.

I'm sorry you fell. I do not understand what you are asking. I have an RS but can't figure out which plug you're talking about. Is it an electrical plug?

I think he is saying male/female block, which would imply electrical. (or he is just cursing his bad luck )

And I remembered seeing similar electrical connectors on Vetter fairings, so it is natural to conclude that BMW used the same block connectors on the RT/RS fairings as on the Type 248 in 1978 ('79 in N.A.)

I thought it was the mo/fo block too Rob, I wonder if Bob got it off already....
