08/1982 R100 vs R100RS main wiring harness

I will be converting a 8/82 R100 to a R100RS and need to know whether I would have to source another main wiring harness.
All RT/RS have the same loom (# 61 11 1 244098), all CS and nekkid R100/T have another (# 61 11 1 244093) but what is the difference between the two? Just the length of it as the "spider" moves the headlight further out?

Anybody know first hand?

Thanks, Stephen

Clock and volt meter wiring.

Can't think of much else that would be different.

Clock/Voltmeter has it's own "auxiliary" harness, but you're right it needs to plug in into the main ... or does it plug into the connection board inside the headlight? ... I believe it does because I have a visual of the clock/volt harness for a RT with black rubber caps to cover spades to prevent shorts.

The fairing instruments have their own short separate looms.

The RS

The CSImage

Exact same picture from Realoem. Maybe it's just the length?

Man if I wasn't going to bed right now I'd go up to the shed and take a look.
I have two spare RS looms so it will be easy to check.
I won't be in a position to look for about 18 hrs.
(no, I'm not sleeping for 18 hours, gotta go to work  )

I would imagine someone will have the correct answer before then but I''l watch this thread.

Edit, See I told ya! Onya Steve.

R100RS loom from the main bifurcation where the thickest bit goes to the headlight and one of the other two smaller bits plugs into the instrument back, measures 99cm to the end of most distant wire/connector in the headlight. Hope that helps Stephen.

A new loom is [almost] unobtainium these days...over OZ$700 I believe. I had one made up for (fr mem) $200 last year. A local to me professional vintage loom maker did it. As it turns out his brother is a friend of mine...small world. I should digitus extractus and swap it in one day.

SteveD, that's a good start but how does that 99cm compare to a standard R100 loom? That is the real question!

Yeah I know, but I don't have a R100 loom to compare. Sorry, but it's a start.

Not criticizing, just stating ;-)

Not taken as criticism...not at all. Just sayin', as some might say.
