Look what's new from Silent Hektik. Only the best ignition around, now for us riders with Ducati style Enduralast alternators. I'm checking into it. http://www.silent-hektik.com/BMW_Z1.htm
Trying to figure out what ohm resistance coils are compatible. Starts to get pricey if you need to buy SH coils with it.

I have a feeling that the 'triple spark' only works with SH coils.

I went for the conventional 450w alternator as it gave me a wider choice of ignitions, I'm running a SH on my 1070 bike and have fitted a Sachse ignition on the r90/6. Both work well, the Sachse ignition has a LED for setting the initial timing and is much easier to set up than the SH. Each have ibnition curves which are ideal for twin plug use. The Sachse website is easier to use and both companies provided a good delivery to the UK.

I originally had a Boyer on the r90/6. I've kept it fitted to the bike so it would be an easy switchover if anything went wrong with the Sachse. You need to double check with the sachse to make sure that the switching plate of the ignition clears the outer cover, you just might need to relieve the cover a bit.

I used an old set of dyna brown coils on the sachse ignition

I'm running an Omega ignition that I adapted to fit on the Enduralast Alternator.
I built an extension for the front cover, so clearance isn't an issue.
The first "red" Omega sensor just crapped out. Luckily I had a spare, but it was the newer version, so I had to make a new adapter. It just got me through a 600 mile ride over the weekend with only one issue. When I revved it to the red line on one of the last secluded stretches, the ignition rotor came loose and spun free, killing the engine instantly. Luckily, that was the first thing I checked. I approximated the timing with the LED, tightened the two tiny allen screws and I was away.
I've got a feeling Omegas don't have a long life span. Others have mentioned that their units have begun to fail.

I love the Ducati style Permanent Magnet alternator, but if I had it to do over I'd get the SH version that works with their ignition. Very compact and they come with a good warranty.
Trying to get info from SH. The customer service rep said all the tech guys are on vacation (Germans take yearly 3-4 week vacations this time of year). Would be nice to know if there is something special about the coils.
How does the triple spark work for you? Are you happy with it? Is the Sachse unit you're talking about the same as the "Enduraspark" by EME? http://www.euromotoelectrics.com/EnDura ... dl-ign.htm

I originally fitted the SH unit with my Dyna Brown coils, and ran the bike with the coils for a year, I then fitted the SH coils, I can't say that I noticed any difference, I don't think that the browns were of the right resistance for the SH ignition!

The bike starts instantly and I don't seem to have any ignition related issues.

The sachse ignition is not the same as the edurolast Sachse based ignition, it has a variety of ignition curves and what is really different is that it has an optical trigger, not a hall sensor. The reason for this is that Volker Sachse is of the view that mounting a hall trigger, right on top of an alternator, may not be a good thing to do! With the Sachse the electronic advance and retard stuff is mounted outside of the engine, this is where I think that Omega went wrong with their ignitions.

The workmanship between SH and Sachse seems to be on a par.

Many Germans have very generous holiday leave, up to 6 weeks and it is not unusual for factories to close down for a period of weeks over the summer.

So this is the unit http://www.elektronik-sachse.de/index_en.htm
The question is still, what coils are compatible with it? Can't find the info on the sight. I'm currently running 2 double output 2.2ohm "grey" Dyna coils.
Those should be perfect for the version of Omega I have according to Omega. The neat thing about that Sachse unit is I could leave the newer Omega in place and mount this on the other side of the alt. I could then have a redundant since I no longer have a system running off the cam.
