I have a 85,R80RT I just fixed the rear fiber glass seat cowl and within 150 miles it's cracked again. I'm
thinking about a full seat like a R100/7. Has any one made the change???? BTW my r80 is a mono-shock
Thanks Bob

My seat cowl has never cracked.
Does your seat have all the rubber bumpers on the bottom that transfer the weight to the frame?

Hi Dougie, I want to say yes, However the seat is a Corbin. The seat is a lot lower then a stock seat
would be. The seat is lower then the seat on my RS.

I have an 88 R100 RT, which had a Corbin on it. The seat pan was/is a piece of shit. It never fit well on my bike and the paint on the rear cowl is all fucked up because of it. I have since purchased a used OEM seat and it fits on the bike much better. I also have an OEM seat pan I intend to have a custom seat made, which is my long term plan.

I had a Corbin in my /5 as a LWB
Serveral things the seat work as a 600 to 1000 mile a day seat
But new quaility sucks and 3 to 5 years later you need recover
I was happy with my revovered Leather corbin BUT 5 years later the thread materal proved poor quality I was pissed
took a lot of adjustment but I had a locking canyon and lady
well as lot of BMW problems came way to me so Kiss ( keep it simple ) and handle things the best you can
I will admit as I made my 1973 solid in the begining its the spin of the wheel in the wind, the low bar turismo griped and stock recoverd seat big tank that said you done it right
