R75 not starting

Stopped to eat on my 73 r75 this evening and when leaving bike would not start. Headlights work fine but oil pressure/charge indicator lights don't come on when ignition switch is engaged. Nothing happens when starter switch is depressed. Too late to look at it tonight. My guess is something open in the ignition switch unless this circuit is fused somewhere?

The stop light switch should live up when the ignition comes on, so if you run a jump lead from the battery positive to the live terminal on the switch that will bypass the switch , and eliminate one item.

Check the large terminals at the battery...sometimes they break and just make contact wnough for lights but not enough for starter current.
This happened to me AND to someone else a year later at a rally...easy to fix IF you know to look for it.

Actually quite common. When we found a bike with the starter not turnng, our first check was a battery terminal. Just reach down and tweak the lugs and often that is enough. However, it can be far more complicated.

terminals look good...I've got a rat's nest inside the headlamp that I am going through. I did find some skinned wires but nothing yet to cause the issue. Still probing.

turned out to be a short in the wiring which also blew a fuse in the starter circuit.
Thanks for the responses
