r90/6 aluminum spring covers on a Ikon Shock
r90/6 aluminum spring covers on a Ikon Shock
I just replaced my factory shocks on my 74 r90/6 with ikons, i really want to keep the factory look. how can i switch over the factory parts to the ikon's. is the factory hole in the covers, larger or smaller then the ikon's
Re: r90/6 aluminum spring covers on a Ikon Shock
The hole is smaller than required for the IKON (Koni) shock. It can be enlarged with a hole saw, carefully. You'll need a way to hold the cover rigidly in place while drilling with a press.
Re: r90/6 aluminum spring covers on a Ikon Shock
If you bugger up the job, then there people who sell stainless steel covers sized for Ikons

There's also a bunch of us with old Boge shocks lying around in the parts piles. You mean there's a market for this stuff. I proved the wife wrong once again. I'll keep hording.

hi, im pretty sure that the OE shrouds will " not " fit the ikon /koni shocks , well they didny fit on my koni shocks so i had some marine grade alloy shrouds spun up to look like the OE part.jgleadle wrote:I just replaced my factory shocks on my 74 r90/6 with ikons, i really want to keep the factory look. how can i switch over the factory parts to the ikon's. is the factory hole in the covers, larger or smaller then the ikon's
