Speedo repair around Albury

G'day Aussie blokes,
Does anyone know anything about Albury Speedo Service? They have a website but it only gives a PO box and a mobile phone number. I've nothing against using a backyarder but I would like to be reassured that they have more speedo skills than I do (nil).
I've used Shepparton Speedo Repairs previously and their repair lasted 8 years and 100,000+km. I think it cost a bit under $200. I just thought it would be nice to 'shop local'.
For those interested: my speedo suddenly started showing roughly twice the speed I was actually doing and occasionally runs off the scale.
Cheers
Ray

Ringwood Speedometer Service does Motometer.

Drinking and riding Ray?
I don't know of any one local.
Edit, I wonder if it is a broken cable, frayed wires catching etc..

Whittakers Speedometer Service in Wagga is another possibility. The owner Brett is a BMW rider.

G'day Bruce. I see your post count is 1, so thought I'd say 'Welcome Aboard'.
There are a few of us around Albury / Wodonga and a bunch from south east Oz get together occasionally for weekend rallies. Where are you based?

Welcome Bruce. That's good to know. Thanks. Does Brett do the Motometer stuff? They can't be too different from VDO surely?

Ahh, I hadn't been drinking Jeff, but I was pretty pleased with myself for a moment there. Cornering at a hundred miles an hour and the tacho not even hitting redline. Clearly the there was a problem with either me or the speedo.
I also wondered if it was the cable but when I turn the input on the speedo by hand there is an expensive sounding grinding noise.
Thanks for the suggestions (and g'day and welcome, Bruce). Dunno who I'll use yet.
Cheers
Ray

Thanks for the welcome to the forum. I live at Glenbrook in the lower Blue Mountains about 60km west of Sydney. I have family at Wagga and visit there every month or so. I dont know specifically what speedos Whittakers work on but they have a good reputation and I'm sure wouldn't mind a call. I have a connection with Albury in that I bought my R100RT Classic from Blacklocks last July. It was a local bike with a couple of previous owners. The most recent owner had it for 6 years but it did less than 1000km in that time. If any you local guys know the bike I would be keen to hear any information on it. My 1977 R100S I have owned since about 1988 and awaits restoration.

Howdy Bruce. Up your way we also have Steve from Dubbo (now in Orange) and Mal in Dubbo. Not quite around the corner, but just down the road a bit.

Bruce, check out the Autumn Leaves Rally thread in the Motorcycling forum. Late April camping weekend at Wee Jasper - not too far from you. There will probably be about 10 or 12 of us there - a good opportunity to meet others afflicted with old airheads.
