There's been a few versions of "plastic" tanks over the years. I suppose the real question is, will a tank designed for a 1985-on Monolever bike fit on a R100RS without issues?

Kunststoff = plastic

Auspuff = exhaust

Vergaser = carburetor

Yeah they should, but a little less gas in the tank. The earlier twin shock tanks won't fit later mono's 'cause the undertank shape won't accommodate the goodies on the right side of the frame.
From memory those tanks came out for a very short period with early mono's. Not sure why they were discontinued.

Actually, the biggest question is: do they work?

A number of motorcycle companies have been having trouble with swelling plastic tanks over the last few years. The speculation is that the problems are due to the alcohol content in E-whatever fuel, but no one is really certain. What is certain is that tanks made some years ago for gasoline were not even designed with the expectation of the fuel being 10 - 15 percent alcohol.

Polyethylene would be good material for tank making but perhaps it's too rough for a premium tank?
