Thanks Max

Just a report: I made a spreadsheet of six or more venders for the parts I wanted to buy for the R50/5. Max won out. Shipping was only $7.46. The place in Iowa? that was suggested to me as free shipping was not free. I had the stuff in no time from Max in New York.

Also Motorcycle Superstore has free shipping for the moment. So even a filter or other small item comes to you no tax, no shipping. Pretty hard to beat with the price of gas.

My good R50/5 has turned into my not so good treasure. Advertised as 3500 original miles. The chrome on the carburetor slides is worn off in places! Very original other than exhaust. Someone was a master of getting the bike ready for sale. An artist with a rattle can! Prolly a BMW rider person because there are no rounded off nuts or SAE bolts. Just hidden miles. I give the previous (before the bar tending college student) owner a lot of credit for preping this bike for sale. A fool and his money are soon parted. I say with a grimace.

I say hang on a little longer. No matter how long you've had that /5, as time goes on it will seem more and more like money well spent. And eventually, a bargain (in more ways than one)!
