Rubber tipped needles for a R60/7

Hi all
I'm new to this forum and quite new to BMW's as well. I am getting a R60/7 back on the road and would appreciate some help.
I have rebuilt the rusted gummed up carbs (53 Bing slides) but I can’t stop the leaking. I fitted new needles but obviously the seats are fixed. Is there a way of lapping the new needles in, or do later models come out with rubber tipped needles??/ If so, then part numbers please. Any help in general on these carbs would be appreciated.
Regards.
G

Assuming that you're in the U.S., try the Bing Agency, in Council Grove, KS'; phone: 620-767-7844

Thanks folks
I am in South Africa, so no easy access to Bing shops, that why I was hopeing to find a part from a later model which fits. BMW are quite well stocked down here.
Is this a comon problem on the old slide valve carbs? what do the CV Bings use?
I'll see if Bing can provide me with a BMW part number.

Go to the on-line fiche such as RealOEM, type in your serial number, and to go Fuel System. All part numbers are provided for the carb internals. BMW should be able to get those for you.

I think the point has been missed. The 53 comes out with steel float needles, I can get any amount of these from the dealer. Trouble is, I'm not sure if they ever sealed properly, but on the old carbs, they do not seat very well for whatever reason, that’s why I am wondering if there ever was a retrofit OR if any other carb float needle with a rubber tip will fit the old 53's. This information I can only get from old hacks who got sick of petrol filled boots and made a plan.

Have you looked at the state of the seat?

I know of no source for synthetic tipped needles.
An antique car mechanic trick is to lap needles and seats with toothpaste. It's a very fine abrasive that breaks down quickly.

Yes, I have, not sure what 33 year old seats should look like but they are not pitted. Unfortunately they are pressed in and not readily replaceable. Again I would happily lap the new needles in but do not sure if there is a procedure nor do I have the tools.
