Any 650 post 81 g'box should fit shouldn't it? Maybe even the 80's & 100's boxes too!

Tried ebay.de?

...and welcome along for the ride! :)

Actually, unless I'm badly mistaken, I believe any gearbox from any '81 and later airhead will fit jimmyk's R45.

Welcome to the forum jimmyk.

Only one slight caveat... a box from the later 'Paralever' bikes (R100R, Mystic and 'GS) will have the output oil seal fitted the worng way round. It will still fit... it's otherwise identical... but the output seal should be turned round or replaced.

Cornered is NOT the word. Digested is more like it.
chopped-salad with no oil.

As you are in Ireland, motobins or motorworks will sell you a fully reconditioned gearbox for around £300.

WOW! That would be a bargain! ($480 USD) I was quoted just under $1000 USD for fully reconditioned from Re-Psycle in Ohio.
