Hi, took the R90S out for a blast yesterday and noticed a Strange Wizzing sound coming from up front..
any ideas? the instruments appear to be reading normal. If I need to, whats the correct procedure for disconnecting
the Tacho cable? Cheers Jeff.

Be sure you don't ride it long that way; it could damage parts. Just unscrew the speedometer cable to ride.
Sounds like some inside the cluster parts are needing a spray of lithium grease, that is if it's what I think it is. I've had a similar whine sound a couple of times over twenty years. It's from a speedo cable gear or two inside the cluster that needs a bit of lithium grease. When it gets dry, it makes a whine/wizzing sound.
Use my EZ step by step gallery to get yourself into the cluster....

The part you last need to remove is Photo 5....

You'll turn this part upside down and spray a little lithium grease in and around the mechanisms. This fix should last a number of years.

Nope, it "sounds like" is not definitely.

Without having to remove the Whole Speedo/Tacho Console,...can I just unscrew the cable out of the back & spray grease
into the hole & end of cable?

Hi Jeff, the speedo and the tacho cable can be taking off the instruments , look for a knurled nuts on the speedo and the tacho cables on each sides of the instruments. Take the tacho cable one off first, fire the bike up and you'll see the inner cable spin around and if the noise isnt there it may be the speedo .
