Some of those bikes do look shithouse Charlie.
But no where near as shithouse as mine.

Stop, stop, stop, you guys! ME109's pics and your comments are filling my mind with images--images I don't want, that is. And then my brain starts filling in narrative commentary. Images and now commentary. I can't take it!

Now, ZM will occasionally post an image that inspires both images and commentary. And I'm OK with his. I don't know quite how to define the difference, but there is a difference.

Rant over, in defense of ME109, his stuff is still better than all that "cat-o-riffic" stuff. (Uh, except for your cat, Airbear. Your cat's OK. A cat even owned me once.)

When I posted my restored Goose on the net I got crap from purists about the mods I had done. They didn't like my fork boots, exhaust, and bars. I told the negative posters that they needed to get life, and when they grew up they could outfit their Guzzis anyway they like. Idiots.

Do you all find this in bad taste?

Why, thank you Ken. I passed on your comment to Michael of the Jungle, who perked up in a mild sort of way and asked when you were coming around to feed him. It's very hot at the moment and he refuses to take off his orange overcoat. Apparently it's a style matter. He'd rather be kewl than cool.

Noisy is in bad taste. Other than that, there are things that appeal to me and things that don't. Bobbers of any kind have some visual appeal, I wouldn't want to ride one. I suppose even noisy bikes that don't get ridden are ok. So if it makes you happy, and I can't hear it, its cool. I have had a soft spot in my heart for Guzzies since I first rode a 750 in the 70s.

Not at all, Neil.
I reserve the right to make suitable adjustments to my bike. Bend her to my will - so to speak.
I do think it's important to do no harm. Whatever I do is reversible, provided a future owner has the dollars to replace some bits and get some painting done. In the meantime I am having fun with a machine that suits my needs very well, in terms of practicality and style.
