Weinmann ID's

Going thru my Weinmann rims I was wondering if anyone knows about the Low hump versus the High hump spoke pulls on high lip rims?
My stamped 62 wheels are High hump and my 61 is a Low hump spoke pulls. Is their a difference for a single versus a twin Weinmann or was there just a wheel upgrade in 62 and all Weinmann wheels were used on all singles and twins?

What ever info you have Thanks in Advance.

Singles where 36 spokes and twins 40.

I forget when the high lip changed to lowlip. Then there is single cross rims and double cross rims.

I think Duane has most of it on his site..........I just don't remeber all that trivia.

From what I have found so far. The Weinmann company changed its production of the high lip rim somehwere between late 1961 and early 1962. Pre 1962 nipple hump is a little less in height. The 62 and after show
a larger hump on rim top side.

Why? Anyone know?

Is that the same time they changed from single cross spokes to double cross? If so that maybe the answer.

While on another site, one of the posters posted he had only seen the low lip on singles with 36 spokes. I assume he was just saying that is all he has seen and not that there wasn't such a thing. Probably due to there short run of production. I recently posted to see what he and others there had to say?

So over here? Are there 40 spoker low lips for the twin?

I am guessing YES if Garnet is looking for a set for a conversion.

Better yet, who has pictures of a single conversion bike?

A CR 500 motor pushing a R26 would be hillarious!
