Broken Clock

The clock on my 1985 R80 died.
Has been replaced with a digital chinese clock
around $20(supposedly waterproof).
Slight modifications to the original harness.
Also rewired voltmeter direct to battery
using relay. Now shows approx 1v higher
than original harness and agrees with DMM
at the poles. New Motobatt battery has
two +ve and two -ve terminals. Very handy.

I love the fact that it says "Clock" across the top - just in case you forget what it is.

SteveD,
The part number you quoted of course is the rubber "eyelash"
as on your RS. These metal rings were on the bike when I purchased
it in July 10. According to both of my BMW parts book and an online
site the rubber "eyelash" is what is should have. They appear to be held
on by at least one small allen type grub screw. Had a quick go at removing
one to see if had a part number marked inside. No go.
Munich Motorcycles parts book states that 62 11 1 356 676 is not for
" GS/ST, R45/65 or Paralevers". Maybe it has come from one of these ??

Idling a little high? Maybe you could get a fairing sticker that gives tire pressure and oil spec written in Chinese TO GO ALONG WITH YOUR DIGITAL CLOCK! This vill not pass field marshals inspection in der fatherland.

I wasn't too sure which was the clock until I found the title.

Back in the day, many people made huge fun of having a clock on a bike. I fell in love with it on my R90S. I have mounted one on other bikes since then.
