Looking for a source(s) for cad plating for a restoration I'm doing. I have some fasteners and some other small parts from a R90s.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.
kindest regards,
jimmy

Google "cadmium plating service" and lots of options pop up.

DCI Aerotech

You might try the kit from Eastwood.

Is the Eastwood kit cad plated? I know of several stainless kits but that is not what the OP asked about.

Yeah, it's a tin/zinc plating system. It isn't exactly cadmium, but the results look pretty nice.

I thought real cadmium plating was outlawed by the EPA a number of years ago. You may check my belief for accuracy, but what you find now is a substitute that will appear to be the same.

You know, I thought so too, but apparently we are wrong. Cadmium plating is still available even in California. Back in 2011, the EU banned Cadmium plating in jewelry, so that may be related to how the rumor got going, or it may have been that a ban was considered, but never went into effect.
