I just found this and I want it ...
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BMW-R60-5-To ... da1&_uhb=1
Price even seems reasonable ... or maybe I am just seeing so many over-priced bikes .. that it seems reasonable.
Still ... perhaps a few grand in there to get it sorted ... and lots of hours ..
Rego is due on old schtarker, but that's all I gotta do. Is it OK to be tempted by ... an older woman?

Costs of rwc $150,and rego $600 unless it gets club historic rego, new tyres $350-400, seat cover $50. Collection or freight costs added.
You're at $6K+. I say go for it. It's only (your) money Mal!

1980 PE250. Restored like new but it would bloody want to be!)

Thanks Steve and even all going well you could add -
- alloy blinkers x 2 ($100 plus postage from UK)
fork gaiters (and no doubt a fork rebuild kit)
steering head, swing arm and wheel bearings?
speedo/tacho rebuild?
carb kit, cables,
battery
and ummmmm ...
Why "buy it now"? Why would someone bring in an import though and not want to auction it .....

Good thing about those SWB bikes is that you don't need as much power to get the front wheel up nice n high..

That is a rare bike and seems to be in good shape with low miles. The Toasters are generally considered started in 1972 but that one may be one of the first produced. Go for it! What could possibly go wrong?

The toasters were first introduced for the 72 model year. That happens in 1972, so about 1/3 of any year's production would occur in the previous years. This is exactly the same with every manufacturer that I know of, so why do we get confused about the year with BMW?
Before you ask anything else, find out if it tracks straight with hands off. That is a bent frame.
